We are so glad you've visited today. We would love to meet you sometime soon, and in the meantime, any basic question you may have about our church should be answered below. Thanks again for stopping by. We hope to meet you soon!
WHAT TYPE OF CHURCH IS COVENANT?
Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church is a mission church of Living Hope Presbyterian Church in Gettysburg. We began worship here in Chambersburg in April of 2014, and are a small but growing congregation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our church consists of people from all ages and walks of life, and all are welcome here!
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE SERVICES?
Sunday morning services begin at 9:30 with the worship service and 11:15 AM for Sunday School. Sunday evening worship is held at 6 PM. We meet at 875 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg, PA, 17202.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Everyone is welcome dressed how they feel comfortable for worship. Everything from business casual (jeans and polo shirts) to formal (suit and tie) can be observed in the congregation.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?
When you arrive you can expect to be greeted by an usher who will provide you with a bulletin and who can answer any questions about the facility or order of worship. You can expect to be warmly greeted by those in attendance as everyone prepares to take their seats and gather for worship. If you have young children, there is a windowed nursery room adjacent to the main meeting room; we welcome children to be in the worship service even if they are a bit noisy.
WHAT IS A SERVICE LIKE?
Check out one of our bulletins to see our order of worship. The upcoming Sunday bulletin is ordinarily uploaded by Thursday evening if you're curious about the upcoming service.
Our worship service is traditional in the sense that we sing hymns, and at every point we seek to focus on the core elements of worship which God commands of us: congregational singing, prayer, the reading of God's Word, preaching, and observance of the sacraments.
HOW CAN I MEET OTHERS AND GET CONNECTED?
Covenant OPC is committed to the Biblical teaching of both our union with Christ and our communion with one another. There are three main ways to get connected: Attend a service, join us for a fellowship event, or join a Bible study group. If you haven’t already, take the first step and simply join us for one of our two Sunday services
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
The Lord says in Acts 2:39 that “the promise is for you and for your children...” and as such, we treat children as part of the church. We invite kids of all ages to be in the worship service and provide a windowed nursery room adjacent to the main meeting room. Children’s Sunday school is held following worship for all ages. We welcome your entire family to take part in learning and growing towards Christ as a part of our covenant community.
